Mya and I did it in about two and a half! And it looks pretty good, too. I guess if God had had a helper as useful as mine, he probably could've had a four day weekend instead of just Sunday.
It turns out that the ability to do mosaic must be genetic… Mya is almost as good at it as I am after only a few days of working on the project. Jupiter went quickly, and then I started her out with sea and clouds on Earth. By day two on Earth I was quite confident of her ability and she ended up doing most of North America. At this point, she'd be my first choice if I were hiring for the studio.
Britt's kids were helpful in cutting the tile before starting in on the mosaic. It's been a really fun, collaborative project so far, and I'm looking forward to the next stage where everyone will get a chance to work together on the Sun and Neptune.
Here's a few pics of the work in progress…
