I'm pretty geeked about the review of my blogs posted on ProBlogger today by Brian Clark. It's deeply rewarding when you get a chance to connect with someone like that… and blogs are what have made that possible for me. Brian and I had a great skype conversation some time ago which lasted half the day. Since then we've traded emails fairly frequently and I'm glad to count him among the friends I've made in the blogosphere. Brian rocks. And his advice on writing copy is brilliant.
I just noticed that a lot of the traffic landing here today is coming from his post on ProBlogger, so I wanted to be sure that I also point you to the "catablog" site he's really talking about in the article. ArtBuzz is the ecommerce site and this one you're reading now is the blog for studio news. There's going to be a lot of new stuff to look at soon on ArtBuzz, so now's really a great time to check it out. As I wrote over there earlier today:
I'm blown away by all the positive things he wrote… In fact, I almost feel like I could relax and sit on my laurels for a minute or two.Anyway, thanks for stopping by. Hope you enjoy what you find here. But that's just so not in my nature. Instead, this kinda ups the ante, you know? I do this work because I love it…relaxing has always kinda made me tense.
I've got a ton (well, 100's of pounds) of new sculpture and mosaic from the last couple months that hasn't been posted yet. Brian's review has inspired me to get caught up, and so I'll be posting it all over the next few days.
I'd like to invite you to subscribe to the ArtBuzz feed so that you'll have first chance to pick up some great work as it goes online. Most of the new work is one-of-a-kind, so when it's gone, it's gone.
Of course, I'm always open to trying to recreate a piece as a commission when possible, but some of the recycled work uses material that only shows up once in a blue moon. Or once. So if you see something you like, click that button and I'll ship it right out.
I should also point out that I'll be available for consulting, blog design etc. in a few months when the summer art season slows down. If you'd like to discuss that kind of work, drop me a line via email or check out my other blog, Typepad Hacks.
